I've been a fan of the Canadian women's soccer team all the way back to 2016, when they were cheated out of a chance to play for the gold by a bad call.
This year, I say that the Canada-France game was one of the most exciting soccer games I've ever seen. There was a special level of intensity because the Canadians had to win.
I've watched some of the 3x3 in this year's Olympics after not really watching any in Tokyo. And, I gotta say... I like it a lot better than regular basketball!
Yeah, I guess there's an argument to be made that it'll succeed more if the tournament has a lot of parity (which it has so far!) and a lot of countries have a chance to win vs. a Dream Team-esque USA lineup just demolishing everyone.

It’s fun!!!! It’s quick! It’s easy to understand! I think they botched the execution though
I LOVE the no coaches aspect too.

I turned on 3x3 with my dad the other day, and he was utterly baffled:
- Why is there a different version of basketball in the Olympics?
- Why are there no good players in it?
- Why does 3x3 basketball even exist?
I had no good answers.
Clearly we now need an NCAA 3X3 league.
Great idea!
