Cottonwood High in Utah attempted it successfully three years ago. I’d know; I was the reporter who covered the game.

Great article but two points on Gaelic Football:

1. It doesn’t descend from rugby, they have a few similarities (but very few overall really) but they developed separately

2. There is a mark that was only brought in in the last 10 years or so but it’s being amended due to controversy about it slowing the game down

Maybe what Terry meant was "they can't rush the kicker to try to block it". Otherwise its just a kickoff, no reason the receiving team can't touch it after it is kicked.
