The "Group of 5" is stuck in a second tier without the benefits that usually come with being in a second tier. As the power leagues take more for themselves, the G5 deserve something of their own.
Not to be a troll but if this became a reality would Northwestern and Vanderbilt leave the Big Ten and SEC to compete for the Group of 5 championship? Would Purdue stay in the Big Ten as a basketball member but leave for football? There's almost four levels of D1 football. The top half of the power conferences, the bottom half of the power conferences, the group of 5, and FCS. If we're gonna have 20 team conferences maybe we should have relegation. I feel like it would mean so much for Mississippi State to get promoted from SEC B to SEC A for a year. And then make the conference schedule similar formula to the NFL schedule (although with permanent rivalries preserved).

Pretty sure the big ten splits revenue evenly. So NW and Purdue would be crazy to leave the big ten
TIL about "sprint football." Football for little guys! This needs to be a bigger thing!
No thanks . Save college football
How much difference is there now between G5 and FCS?
I agree with Kevin about NFL wannabees. As he said, do a reorganization of everything left.
Yes, Rodge! Yes!
